From the announcement in 2013 after we completed the renovations:

The Hope Valley Plus shopping centre has just had its first extensive makeover in 30 years, launching its new look in 2013

The refurbishment, designed by MavtectDesigns, cost more than $320,000 includes: a new façade, improved interior lighting, a carpark upgrade, a new name and logo, and illuminated signage.

Project & Development Manager for Placeplan Property Services, Mr Alex Pyrlis is a strong advocate for local retailers and believes traders such as these are the heart and soul of any community.

“This shopping centre has been apart of the Hope Valley community for 40 years. When we got involved it was called the Hope Valley Shopping Centre and we decided almost immediately to change the name and invest in a much needed makeover to offer both traders and customers a modern and attractive place to do business.”

“I think it is important for landlords and tenants to work together to buck the tough retail downturn and I’m happy to say that we are 100% leased, with all traders doing well, including Be Sassy Hair & Beauty and The Hope Valley Diner who will both celebrate their one year anniversary this Christmas,” said Mr Pyrlis.

Director of Retail Asset Management, David Biven said that the new owner is very proactive and this refurbishment is just the start.

“Further landscaping works are planed, plus discussions are underway to connect adjoining carparks with the Valley Inn Hotel and the Hope Valley Foodland IGA to create greater convenience for customers and plans are being considered to increase the floor space down the track.”

“We will also work with individual traders to scope out opportunities and connection within the local community as we are both committed to attracting quality retailers and making Hope Valley Plus a great place to shop and dine,” said Mr Biven.

The improvements to the centre and introduction of new tenants have seen a marked increase in clientele, especially larger bookings at the diner. Hope Valley Plus is open 7 days and has six tenants: The Hope Valley Diner, Sassy Hair & Beauty, Pirouettes Dance Attire, the newest shop Mobility & Therapy Centre as well as long standing businesses Connected Home Loans and John Hennessy Accountants.
